Go Red Casting call

I get to talk about the small changes that made a HUGE difference in my life. Changes like watching my portions, walking regularly, embracing exercising and treating sometimes foods like what they are sometimes foods.

On January 30 I, along with women across North Dakota, have the opportunity to participate in the Go Red Our Hearts, Our Choice Casting call at West Acres in Fargo. They will be interviewing women from North Dakota who have chosen to take control of their heart health on how they have accomplished this goal.
In addition to helping register women for the movement and supporting the event by speaking to people, I get to be one of those women to be interviewed and considered for the campaign.

So get up and get out!
I hope to see you on January 30 if you’re here in Fargo.
If you’re not in Fargo I still hope you get out and support this event in your area.!
Until next time remember: it’s your story, your heart and we need to hear it!
HUGS!

New Year and New Beginnings

80 degrees and a light breeze… Why in this world would anyone want to leave? Welcome to Miami, FL! I have been here for 8 days celebrating new years, family, love and my Mother’s Wedding!! However, while in Florida, I decided to bring my sash and make a couple of appearances… Last night, I was invited to Splitsville Bowling Alley in South Miami… Oh My goodness, we had a ball! Scott Loiselle, the manager of Splitsville, made sure my family and I had a beautiful time. Splitsville is a Luxury Lanes and Dinner Lounge – Try putting a 5 star gourmet restaurant, dance club and bowling alley all together!! Thank you to Splitsville for the complimentary bowling and evening. It was beautiful! P.s. – I even bowled with the special Miami Dolphins ball. Haha To visit more about Splitsville: http://www.splitsvillelanes.com
Well, it’s going straight… hmmm… do ya think strike???

Much Love & Happy New Year!

A few days before Christmas, I delivered all of the letters I collected for the Make-A-Wish Foundation to Macy’s, I am so proud to say that I exceeded my goal of 1000 letters! In total, Macy’s received 6.4 million letters. That’s $6.4 million. This number is outstanding! Thank you all! We couldn’t have done it without your help!

State beauty queen is keeping it real

It’s a good thing Janet Harding, Miss Washington 2008, works out frequently.

Balancing public and private life — especially after controversial photos of Miss Washington 2007, Elyse Umemoto, surfaced this year — may seem a bit of a challenge, but Harding said it’s simple: “The person I am as Miss Washington is the person I am in everyday life. I do not have a dual personality. What you see is what you get.”

She is a year from finishing a degree in elementary education at Western Washington University. A longtime mentor in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, she plans to become a teacher with a certification in special education. She doesn’t have a boyfriend. Like most state titleholders, Harding said she’s too busy for a committed relationship and too focused on her job as Miss Washington.
