Miss America takes on a stellar partner

Even though Miss America and the two pageant runners-up were selected and crowned last week, the full story still has not been told.

For the first time in history, the Miss America Organization has selected a national platform. The alliance with the Children’s Miracle Network represents the first ongoing philanthropic union in the 86-year history of Miss America, although the children’s network has had an 18-year relationship with the pageant.

Now there will be a permanent and evolving partnership between the two organizations, according to Miss America Organization news statements.

The Children’s Miracle Network is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children in need of medical attention. The network raises funds throughout the year for 170 children’s hospitals in North America, including the Children’s Hospital at The Medical Center of Central Georgia.

The hospitals give the best available medical care, preventive education and lifesaving research to help millions of children overcome devastating illnesses and injuries of all kinds, the organization says.

Bahrain to deport Pinay ex-beauty queen for porn

A former beauty queen faces deportation from Bahrain for posing semi-naked in a video taken by his lover, a Filipino chef married to another Filipino woman working in the Gulf.

Police arrested the beauty queen Thursday at a hotel where she works after the chef’s wife surrendered the pornographic video of his mistress that she found on his phone, the Gulf Daily News reported on Monday.

Filming and distribution of pornographic videos in Bahrain is against the law.

The former beauty queen, now in her late 20s, has been detained at the Asry Police Station where she awaits deportation.
